Her Agenda will sit down to talk with Karen Civil about how she went from intern to a rising sought after brand synonymous with all things hip hop, marketing and of course social media. With a current following of more than 260K on twitter alone, she’s a self-made entrepreneur who has mastered the art of branding, marketing and social media. This conversation will cover her unique career story and provide insight into the decisions and opportunities that helped land Karen where she is today and the lessons she’s learned along the way from working with major brands like Beats by Dre and major artists like Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj and more. Karen hopes that after hearing her story women feel empowered to accomplish their goals and follow their dreams.

Describing Karen Civil in three words would go something like this: relentless, open and forward-thinking. Long before her present day accomplishments, Karen was just a young woman from the tri-state area who, like so many, had nothing but a dollar and a dream to her name.

In October of 2008, after cultivating a business relationship with The Diplomats’ A&R, DukeDaGod and her success with the establishment of their website www.dipsetmixtapes.com, Karen decided to venture out for self. KarenCivil.com was formed as a means to give readers a first-hand account of the Hip Hop industry through exclusive interviews, opinions, back stage footage of concerts/parties and of course, music. From the start, showcasing up and coming talent was a focus of Karen’s. She has featured artists such as Nicki Minaj, J. Cole, Drake, Nipsey Hussle and more! Still, KC’s sphere of influence continues to spread. She is the co-creator of Lil Wayne’s now famous blog www.weezythankxyou.com and the curator of Flex’s now popular www.inflexwetrust.com.  Karen has been featured in XXL, The Source, Vogue Magazine and named by MTV as one of 2010’s Hip Hop MVPs.

She has shown a unique ability to adapt with the changing times and make it her niche – a characteristic that will only continue to increase in value over time. She has launched her personal company Always Civil Enterprise, LLC. A full fledge branding, marketing, and social media start-up, Civil is offering to transform and re-build the careers of mainstream names. With the already enlisted Lil’ Wayne, Civil has managed to add names such as Mary J. Blige, Young Jeezy, Nipsey Hussle, Mountain Dew, and Beats By Dre. With the client roster growing faster than her set expectations, Karen’s plans to continue to be social media's head puppeteer will not be diminishing anytime soon.
