Event Description

Trees play a crucial role in the health and sustainability of our cities.  They shade our streets and homes, they clean our air and water, and they make us happy!  Trees also play a vital role in placemaking, influencing the way we think about our city.

Join the Forest Service, Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Fairmount Park Conservancy and Yards Brewing Co. at Penn Treaty Park to talk about the importance of trees to past, present and future Philadelphians.  At this event you will also:

  • Talk to experts about urban forestry in Philadelphia today
  • Learn about the historic Penn Treaty Elms, and other "witness trees" that have stood by as history was made
  • Find out how you can get involved in tree planting and care in Philadelphia, and make a difference in the future of your city

After the talk join us at Yards Brewing Co. Tasting Room to enjoy a free Yards beer and tomato pie with urban forestry experts from the Philadelphia area.
